"I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me." Galatians 2:20
One Powerful Way to STOP Demonic Attacks

Have you ever felt that the devil is trying to come against you when you’re doing the things of God? Whether that night you’re trying to share the gospel with your brother or your family, or you’re trying to do some serving in the church and something just happens – like the car breaking down, or something happens around the house. And in your spirit, you feel this is a demonic attack.

If you have experienced that, I want to share with you a testimony that I heard recently that will help you to come against the attack of the evil one.

The Testimony

This minister is named Roger Sapp and he writes:

“I started traveling in healing ministry in 1993 just after I retired from the U.S. Army Chaplaincy. Typically, I was ministering Friday night through Sunday morning.

When I first started traveling, my lovely wife, Ann, would experience harassment from the enemy in the form of things going wrong on Fridays when I was gone. Some have called this demonic backlash. The car wouldn’t start. The toilet would overflow. The roof would leak. The kids were misbehaving or someone in the family got injured. Important things would turn out missing. You get the idea.

Ann would be stressed out from dealing with emergencies on Friday. And we would speak to her on the phone after arriving at the location, she and I both began to dread leaving home. I knew that it was the devil trying to distract me and attempting to create fear in me of more backlash affecting my family. I was troubled by this ongoing experience and made it a matter of prayer.

I decided that I needed to take the offensive instead of being defensive all the time. I needed to fire back at the devil so I made a strong decision about what to do. I committed myself to this course of action: Every time my wife and family had problems while I was gone, I would pray for an hour for the salvation, conversion of a well-known person who was also known to be a non-Christian.

Often I get a laugh when I tell people who I chose to pray for. I chose the rock star Madonna who was very popular both as an actor and a rock musician at the time. I made this commitment known to the devil by speaking it aloud.

On my next ministry trip, on Friday afternoon, my wife reported to me that she was having problems again just as before. And just after the Friday night meeting, I was tired but I fulfilled my commitment.

I prayed seriously for Madonna for an hour in my hotel room. I prayed that the good news will reach her repeatedly. I prayed that it would come unexpectedly on the lips of her non-Christian friends and acquaintances, and through the radio, through music, through direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

I prayed that unusual circumstances would be arranged by angels and open doors would come to Christians to talk with her. I prayed that the truth will stick to her like glue and that she would be constantly reminded about what Jesus had done for her.

I asked the Lord to reveal Himself repeatedly in Madonna’s dreams. I asked for grace and mercy for her. I asked that she would be shown the love of God.”

And here’s the important part you need to know.

“I only had to do this once. My wife never again suffered from backlash. The devil did not accomplish what he wanted by afflicting my wife and family. I did not react in fear. I reacted in faith. I reacted in a way that the devil did not want to react.

There was no longer a reason for disorder in my home on Fridays. This game against me had not worked to achieve what the devil wanted. It has now been more than 20 years since we experienced any sort of backlash.

I believe that this same idea of retaliation against the devil’s kingdom works in other matters as well.”

Pray for Others

Do you remember in the bible what happened when John the Baptist was beheaded? Jesus didn’t stand there and be like, “Oh man devil, you’re so bad! You killed John the Baptist!”

No. Jesus went to another town. He started healing the sick, raising the dead, cleansing lepers, casting out demons, and preaching the gospel. He kept on doing what Father God told him to do.

Today, if you’re experiencing backlash. Today, if you’re experiencing attacks and pressure from whether your family, your friends, your coworkers. One of the best things you can do is to keep doing what God has called you to do. Pray for your loved ones. Pray for those who need healing. Share the love of God with them. Share the scripture with a person who is in need.

Do what this minister, Roger Sapp did and say, “Devil, you want to come against me? You want to come against my family? Every time you do that I’m going to minister to other people. I’m going to pray for their sake. I’m going to go and share the gospel with others.”

But the important part is don’t just say it out loud to the devil like that and then don’t do it. You have to follow through, commit yourself to seeing it through until the devil stops attacking you and your family.

You need to remember that Jesus has given us as believers, authority, and power to trample over scorpions and serpents and nothing shall by any means harm me. (Luke 10:19)

I like to say this verse over and over again, especially when I’m praying when I’m coming against some situation. I remind myself who Jesus says I am. And so you should do the same as well for you and your family.

Remember that this faith is not just a one-time thing. We need to continue to follow Jesus until the very end.

Go ahead and share this with people who need it.

Until next time.

God bless!
