Do you want to know if you will be ready for the coming of Jesus? What if I tell you that Jesus had already laid that out to you and one of them is in the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares, which we will look at in this blog post.
In Matthew 13:24, Jesus says:
“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man so sold good seed in his field, but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.”
“So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up? But he says, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares, you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both of them grow together until the harvest, and at that time of harvest I will say to the reapers, first gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”
Do you see the parallel today?
Good and evil.
God and Satan.
People who practice darkness, they don’t even try to hide it anymore. The devil doesn’t even try to hide it because his agenda is so much in plain sight, whether it’s through killing babies with abortion, whether it’s through sexual immorality, whether it’s the culture of the times and the media is propagating this filth. It is in plain sight!
Jesus says at the end times, this is what’s going to happen. The Son of Man, Jesus, is the One who sows the good seed, the devil is the one who sows tares. But because of the grace of God, the long suffering of God, He doesn’t want anyone to perish.
Come Back to God
That’s why He is giving us grace today. He is drawing people back to Him and say, come back to Me. Repent, the Holy Spirit, trying to draw people through the preaching of the word, through miracles, through signs and wonders. Come back to Me because I am going to come back, Jesus says. And you are not ready.
And this is the key that Jesus says, will separate those who enter heaven when He comes and those who will go to eternal destruction when He return.
In Matthew 13:41, Jesus says:
“The Son of Man will send out his angels and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and they will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear let him hear!”
Jesus said, at the end of the age, He will have His angels gather all things who offend. Those who practice lawlessness. What does that mean?
The Apostle John tells us in 1 John 3:7, he who practices righteousness is righteous, and he who practices unrighteousness is unrighteous.
It doesn’t matter what we say, it doesn’t matter what we call ourselves, it doesn’t matter if we practice religious things. Whether we go to church, whether we watch a sermon, whether we give money to the poor, whether we pray. Those things are good, but if you’re not doing them then those things are in vain.
And most importantly, if you’re not following the conviction of the Holy Spirit. When we know that the bible clearly says that there are certain things that we shouldn’t do and we keep doing them because we think that, “Hey, my pastor told me that God always has grace for me. And so it’s okay if I keep doing them and call myself a Christian.”
I want to tell you this with love. Today. Right now. We still have the chance to turn back to God. We can get rid of our lukewarmness. We can come back to our first love.
This is what Jesus says to the churches in the book of Revelation 3:1
“They have a name that they’re alive, but they are dead.”
Today it would do us good before we go to bed and say,
“God is my faith alive?”
“Do I only have a name that I’m alive, but I’m dead?”
“I don’t want to be that way. Change me. Transform me.”
We Have Been Warned of These Things
Get up earlier. Pray and seek the Lord. Get on your knees, fast, read the word. Do you think that you know what you can do and diligently seek God? Because it is only through seeking Him with all of your heart that you can find Him. At the end of the age, which is the time that we’re living right now, there are going to be so many temptations, so many distractions.
Jesus warned us of these things and the only way that you can have victory, the only way that you can come up victorious is if you abide in Jesus Christ through genuine faith.
Jesus says in John 15:7, If you abide in Me and My words remain in you, you will bear much fruit. We cannot do this apart from the work of the Holy Spirit. But today, if we’re too busy, we’re too distracted, how can we hear the voice of God? How can we do the will of God?
I encourage you and I encourage myself. Today, let us do what the bible says. Seek the Lord while he may be found because one day God will not be found when His judgment and His wrath are poured out on the earth.
It will not be a joke. in the Book of Revelation 8:13, it says that the angel was crying out to the whole earth and says, Woe, woe woe to the inhabitants of the earth, But the judgments that are about to be poured out on the earth. Don’t forget that God is the God of holiness and God is the God of justice.
Someone in the old testament touched the ark of the covenant and he died.
Noah, his family, eight people were preserved and the whole earth was flooded.
God has a date that He has reserved wrath. He has reserved judgment to the entire world. On that day, the only thing that’s going to save us is if our names are written in the Book of Life.
But here’s the thing. Jesus says in Revelation 3:5
“He who overcomes, I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life.”
Did you know that your name and my name are possible to be blotted out in the Book of Life? Our prayers should be “No, Lord! Help us to follow You steadfastly until the very end.”
We see, why would people blot out their names in the Book of Life? Because the bible has given us warning after warning to persevere, to endure until the end.
Today, all you’re going to hear are
“Oh, God loves you.”
“Oh, God is great for you.”
“God knows past, present, and future what you’re going to do anyway. And so it’s okay, just cling onto your sin in the name of grace and you’ll be fine.”
And my heart cries out for the people who do not see the need to repent. Especially Christians, because I was one of them in the past. If God did not awaken me out of my sleep through the scriptures read in the bible. Wait, these are the warnings in the bible and I’m doing them!
Repent and Follow Jesus
God, I need to repent today. If I did not see it with my own eyes, I would have just listened to the preachers today, saying I’m fine. I want to tell you, God has grace for you and God loves you. That’s what the bible says.
But at the same time the bible also says that God is holy, He is also righteous.
Today is the day of salvation.
Today is to say I am going to walk away from my sinful pleasures and desires.
Today, I’m going to follow Jesus Christ.
Today, I’m going to tell people about His goodness.
Today, I’m going to tell people about the coming judgment of God.
These are things that you don’t want to hear about today. And it’s very hard to talk about today. People don’t have to read this. But you know what? One day everyone would have wished that they’d heard this more. That they committed their lives more and dedicated their lives more because on that day there will be no turning back.
I pray that in our lives, we want to always honor the King, Jesus Christ. And I pray God that in times that we fail, in times that we don’t live up to who You called us to be, give us grace today.
