“Your faith is dead.”
These are the exact four words that God spoke to Howard Pittman who was a police officer and also a baptist minister, who died in the ambulance on the
way to the hospital.
As the spirit came out of his body traveling to the heavenlies at heaven’s gate, he thought that he surely is ready to meet God. But he was met with words that he never thought God would say to him. Imagine the very day when we will see God, and God says to you – “Your faith is dead.”
How would you respond?
By the grace of God, God has given Howard Pittman a second chance and came back to life. So that he wrote a book, and in
many different books, he tells his experience.
And in this article, we will look at the five points that God gave Howard Pittman to tell the church today. As Christians and true followers of Jesus Christ, it would do us really good to look at what God has spoken to Howard Pittman and compare that with the bible. Because we want to make sure that we are not those that God says, “your faith is dead.” We want God to say to us, “Well done, good and faithful servant, come on in.”
And in point number five, that is a blessing that God has spoken to His church today that if we walk obediently. You want to find out what that blessing is for you in point number five.
Point #1: Lukewarm Christians
Point number one, this is what God tells Howard Pittman:
“For those who call themselves Christians, this is the Laodicean Church Age in which we live. A high majority of so-called Christians, are in fact, living a deceived life. They talk Jesus and play church, but do not live it. They claim to be Christians and then live like the devil. They have bought the great life from Satan who tells them that they are alright.”
He tells them that it is alright to go to church on Sunday, attend mid-week services, but as far as the rest of the time is concerned, they believe they’re comfortable and they have need of nothing. And as a result, they are only lukewarm Christians, if Christians at all.
Because of this, our Lord Jesus said, He would spill them out of His mouth. The bible describes this type of Christian in Revelation chapter 3:14 to 22 as lukewarm Christians.
We certainly don’t want to be in this group, because in the Book of Revelation, Jesus was warning believers. He was not talking to unbelievers.
He says if you being a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ are lukewarm, I will spew you out, vomit you out. That is not a state that we want to be in. Rather we want to be in the true grace of God, living in repentance and true faith in Him.
That’s point number one.
Point # 2: Satan is a Personal Devil
Point number two: Howard Pittman writing this book as God gave them – Satan is a personal devil.
Did you know that Satan is a god?
Did you know that Satan deals on a personal basis with each individual?
Just as Jesus deals with each individual on a personal basis, so does Satan. The soul of each human being is actively sought up both by God, and both by Satan.
However, the numbers game has long been won by Satan. He’s winning this great numbers game because of his great skill and deception, deceit, trickery, and outright lies.
He also has a vast array of demons who have the same skills and abilities to assist him in this battle. And one of the biggest weapons Satan and his demons have is a large portion of so-called “Christianity.”
These Christians do not even believe that Satan is real and that the demons are real, let alone a threat. We all know that no one can resist an enemy if that one does not even believe that the enemy exists.
To him who has an ear, let them hear and learn from the Word of God, and how to resist the onslaught of Satan.
Do you believe in the existence of the devil? It’s not only enough just to believe in him. You got to know his tactics. We got to read the word of God and know that he is out there roaming like a lion seeking whom he can devour.
Today, we can say we will not get devoured. Today, we will come against the devil because we have the Word of God. We have the name of Jesus, and we are Children of God.
That’s point number two.
Point # 3: Humanity is Does Not Prepare for the Coming of Our Lord, Jesus Christ
This is Noah second day. As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man. Humans took no thought of what Noah was saying, nor that humans believe that anything was about to change.
Humanity could see the storm and the clouds over the horizon, but yet did not believe the rain was imminent. Notice the close parallel today. Howard Pittman writes:
“Humanity can see all the signs of the last days, yet humanity does not believe that anything will change. He does not believe in the impending coming of our Lord Jesus, and he does not prepare to meet God. Instead, he plans, he builds, he trades, and gathers unto himself earthly treasures. And even as the storm clouds of tribulation gather on the horizon, he will not hear, nor will he believe. He still refuses to believe.”
Are you looking for the coming of Jesus Christ today? Or are you the same as the people in Noah’s day – eating and drinking, merry-making, doing business having giving no thought to the fact that Jesus is coming any time now?
That’s point number three.
Point # 4: To Be a True Christian, One Must Live It
Point number four: For those who claim to be Christians, they are supposed to be ambassadors for Jesus Christ here on earth. One cannot have any true witness or power in his life unless that one lives his Christian faith at all times – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
To be a true Christian, one must live it, not just talking. To honor God with your lips and not your heart is not acceptable. And those who worship God in words only and not in the mind and in the truth, God will spill out of his mouth.
As we read in Revelation chapter 3, God does not want words only from us, but deeds from those who claim Him as their savior. For faith without works is dead.
Those who accept the responsibility of teaching, preaching or any leadership role will have much to answer for. All of what has been said comes down to this point which is directly related to the commandment in Matthew chapter 6 verse 33:
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Jesus says, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
Today, we cannot live a Christianity just as based on this mentality or this mindset that Jesus died on the cross. We have to go beyond that and show Jesus, “Jesus, if we love You we will obey You.” because that’s what He said.
Point # 5: God’s Army
Point number five and here’s the blessing for Christians who love God and love His appearing. This is the greatest news since the Day of Pentecost!
God is now in the process of recruiting an army with which He will shake this old world one more time. By working through his soldiers, God will produce great miracles that will shake the established hierarchy of the so-called organized religion that is in the world today.
These soldiers that God is now recruiting will demonstrate the power of God to a greater extent than did the disciples in the Pentecostal age. Some will even be greater demonstrations than those of Elijah.
That is fantastic!
This is the greatest news of all time!
God’s recruitment for this army has been going on for some time and some of these soldiers have been brought up to a certain level of faith and placed in their “holding” position where they shall remain until He has brought all the new ones up to that level.
That is the good news and the blessing that Jesus today is calling us. Those who want to come, come. Those who want to drink, drink. He’s saying if you want to participate, if you are truly in Me, I’m calling you today to walk with Me and be My ambassador here on earth because I am coming soon.
Are you gonna be that person? Are you going to reach out to your families, your friends, and your loved ones because they do not know the hope that you know? That one day that God will judge the whole world in righteousness. And we cannot even think about the day when people will be separated eternally from Jesus Christ. In the lake of fire, burning with sulfur and torment forever and ever. We don’t want anyone who we know to go there.
So maybe today rise up! And be the church and be the people that God called us to be. So that we can uplift the name of Jesus, and give hope to the world that is dying. Because Jesus is worthy and we want to be a part of that ride, part of that end-time army that uplifts the name of Jesus until He comes.
Will you be that part of the army?
Will you take on that assignment from God?
If your answer is YES, you absolutely need the power of the Holy Spirit.
