"I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me." Galatians 2:20
69% of Professing Christians Hold These 5 UNBIBLICAL Beliefs!

69% of Americans who profess to be Christians actually hold some unbiblical beliefs. Do you and I hold these beliefs? Let’s check it out!

Because the Bible says that people will not endure sound doctrine in the last days, and many will depart from the faith. Let us make sure we’re truly rooted in Jesus Christ.

Self-Identified Christians

The survey conducted in February of 2021 by the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University found that most American adults, 69% are “self-identified Christians.” While they hold to the basic tenets of the faith, it is also worth noting that self-identified Christians hold to some beliefs that contradict the Bible:

  • 72% believe that people are basically good.

The Bible talks about that without Christ, we are dead in our trespasses and that the heart is exceedingly wicked unless we are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

  • 52% believe there is no absolute truth.

And what about the absolute truth? There is no absolute truth for 52% of these self-identified Christians. Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” No one goes to the Father except through Him.

  • 58% of self-identified Christians believe that the Holy Spirit is not a real, living being.
  • 64% say all faiths are of equal value.
  • And 57% believe in karma.

The Holy Spirit is Real

The Holy Spirit is not some force, some fake ghost. They call Him the Holy Ghost, but the Holy Spirit is a person! You can grieve Him.

He lives inside of us, who are truly Born Again. He descended like a dove on Jesus after he was baptized, but He’s not a dove. He’s a person with real emotions. The third God – Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, that we are to worship, honor, and praise. And yet, 58% of these self-identified Christians don’t think the Holy Spirit is real.

How can you have a genuine relationship with God The Father and with Jesus Christ without the Holy Spirit?

It is impossible!

Because the bible says, “If anyone does not have the spirit of Christ, he is not His.”

You Have to Be Born Again

Do you now realize why Jesus says on that day when many will come and say “Lord! Lord!” but He will respond, “I never knew you; you depart from Me, because you are workers of iniquity .”

Just having gone to church every Sunday; That your parents, your friends, your spouse, whoever it is who goes to church; You read the Bible, and you clap your hands on Sundays, doesn’t mean you are a true Christian.

Do you know what the Word of God says about how to be Born Again? Because Jesus says, “Unless you are Born Again, you are by no means to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”

The True Followers of Christ Read the Bible

Regarding social issues, such as gay marriage and abortion, just over four-in-ten self-identified Christians held conservative views on the issues. 42%!

Isn’t that just so alarming??

How can you be a true follower of Jesus Christ and read the Bible?
In 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Paul is saying that:

“Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men,nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”

Those who practice adultery, homosexuals, and many other sins listed there will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

And this is the problem with the church today, that many people don’t read their bibles. They don’t look at the standard of God because someone or some pastor told them, “Hey, that’s legalism, that’s work-based salvation.”

If you’re trying to live your life according to what the Bible says, let me tell you something. I don’t care what pastor or what religious leader says. I’m going to say; this is the book I’m going to go by. It’s called the BIBLE. It’s called the Word of God.

If it says that we are not to murder, that we are to respect life, and that abortion is wrong, then I’m not going to vote for a party supporting abortion.

If Paul warns in Corinthians and many other churches in the new testament, telling them that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God. Seeing adulterers, fornicators, liars, thieves, covetous, all these people, then I will not do those things. So help me, God!

That will be my standard, not what society tells me, not what the church says. Now, I am not saying to disrespect the church leaders, especially if they honor God and they love God. You go and listen to them.

There is an authority that God has established in the church. But if you hear a religious leader, a pastor, or a missionary of some sort telling you to go against what the Bible says, then you have to obey the Bible and not what others are telling you.

Because certainly you can find a lot of pastors “today” that tell you gay marriage is fine. They’ll even perform gay marriage!

The Bible says homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God, the same way that adulterers will not inherit the Kingdom of God. And Jesus said, “that whoever has lusted in the mind has already committed adultery in the heart.”

And so, no. I’m not blasting just the homosexual and L.G.B.T.Q. community. I’m saying that all of us. We need to come to a biblical repentance and look at what the word of God says or else, we’ll be like these people who claimed themselves to be Christians and yet go against the beliefs and practices of the scripture.

That is not what we want to do if we truly want to follow Jesus Christ. Paul was warning the believers in the Bible saying, “You tell other people not to steal. Do you steal? You tell people not to commit adultery. Do you commit adultery?”

Today is not enough for us to say, “Oh well, look at this world. They’re all bad. They’re all burning. They’re all going to hell.”

What about our lives? What about our thought life? What about our intentions or motives? Our desires? Our ambitions? Is it all about me, or is it all about God?

And I can tell you that it has not always been all about God. But when I recognize that and the Holy Spirit convicts me, I get on my knees, and I seek God and say, “God, I’m so sorry. I repent. This life is not about me. This life is about You.”

My body is to be a living sacrifice to God. It is not for impure thoughts. It is not for impure words. It is not for impure actions. Holy Spirit help us to live anew because it is only by the power of the Holy Spirit that we can honor and uplift the name of Jesus Christ.

Jesus said in the gospels:

“But when the Son of Man comes back on the earth, will He find faith on the earth?”

That you and I be found having faith in Him on the day as He comes back because we read the Word of God. And not only do we read it, but May it also be our prayer and truth that we walk what we read in the Bible. Because that is the truth that we should go by.

Go ahead and share with people who need to read this!

God bless you!
