"I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me." Galatians 2:20
4 Keys to Good Mental Health as a Christian

4 ways to help you stay mentally healthy as a Christian. If we look around the world today we’ll see many different people and different age groups. Maybe they’re young, maybe they’re teenagers, maybe they’re old but the bottom line is they’re suffering depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, stress, and all these emotions.

And all these things are happening in their lives. How did that happen? And more importantly, if you’re experiencing these things today and you feel trapped, you feel that there’s no way out. I want to give you good news. There are four things you can do that can rid yourself of these emotional traumas.

1. We are Body, Soul, and Spirit

You need to recognize that you are not just this body right here. In fact, you are a spirit inside a body and you also have a mind, your soul. And that is why in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, the very famous benedictions that many churches use today

“May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ.”

Why did Paul say that? Because he knows that we are not just our bodies. We have a body, soul, and spirit. When you repent of your sins and trust in Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes and makes your spirit anew. You join one with Him and your spirit is made new, it’s perfect, it’s complete but your body, your mind, your soul are still here on earth. It’s not 100% regenerated and made new, like our spirit with our glorified bodies when we see Jesus. That will be the day when everything is made new. But as of here right now, it is not yet.

This first key is important because it is only after you recognize your body, soul, and spirit that you will do number two.

2. Seek Deliverance

One of the first things that Jesus did in his ministry is to cast out demons, heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers. These are the commands that He gave His disciples.

And not only did He talk about it, He Himself demonstrated. He cast out demons. You can read in the gospel accounts where people would bring their child to Jesus and have the demons cast out and they will heal afterward. They were sane, not insane anymore.

And so that if you’re hearing voices to cut yourself, to kill yourself, suicidal thoughts, depression saying you’re not worth anything, saying that you are garbage or things of that nature. And you know that these are not thoughts from God because God will not accuse you and condemn you like that.

The bible tells us that the devil Satan is the accuser of the brethren. And so if you’re experiencing those things we talked about, you need to seek deliverance. You need someone to pray over you and to cast out those demons from you.

The last thing you want to do is to keep this to yourself because of that pride acting like “Oh I’m okay. Nobody needs to pray for me. I’m good.” That’s going to keep you in bondage. Don’t do that. Seek deliverance.

If you want to learn more about deliverance, how to cast out demons, and the demons cast out of you, I encourage you to go check out the YouTube channels: Isaiah Saldivar and Vlad Savchuk. These two people have great videos talking about how to receive deliverance and how to also minister deliverance to those people.

And if you need prayer, you can contact me as well. I would love to pray for you and cast out demons from you so you can live a life that is free from the attack of the evil one.

3. Stay in the Word of God

And number three after you receive deliverance and have the demons cast out of you, this is what the bible says,

“When the demon goes out of a person, he goes out the dry places looking for a home and he finds none.” (Matthew 12:43)

He’s going to go back and try to revisit the person that he’s gone out from (Matthew 12:44). And he brings seven worst demons from him. Seeing this house is swept clean nothing in there. And this person becomes worse because now he has seven worst demons in him than before (Matthew 12:45).

This is why once you’ve been delivered, you need to renew your mind with the Word of God, fill yourself with the Holy Spirit, plead the blood of Jesus over your life and stay in the word of God. Because the bible has these promises, it says

“Submit to God, Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

Now if you have not received deliverance yet and you need to have demons cast out of you and afterward you stay in the Word of God. You encourage yourself, you fast, you pray and you make sure that your house is not this empty space that the demons want to come back to and bring back the worst demons.

You want to make sure that it’s totally filled with the Holy Spirit, with the fire of God, with the Word of God, so that demons don’t even want to come back and will flee from you.

Romans 12:1 says,

“Offer up of your bodies as living sacrifices holy, and pleasing to God.”

And renew your mind. Not with the things of this world. It says,

“Do not be conformed with the patterns of this world, but rather renew your mind with the things of God, so that you can attest to what is that good and perfect and acceptable will of God.” (Romans 12:2)

And the only way for you to do that is to read the Word of God, stay in it, meditate on it day and night, teach your children, wherever you go you pray.

If you’re baptized in the Holy Spirit, you’re absolutely to pray in tongues and read the bible and read the Word of God.

4. Totally Cut Out Demonic Influence

And if you’ve done number three, number four will make it a little easier which is to cut out demonic influence in your life and close every open door.

Many people don’t realize today that the entertainment of this world is full of open doors to the demonic. If you don’t believe it, just type in the “top movies of this year” on Google and you’ll see so many movies, whether it’s on Netflix.

Now, I don’t have a subscription, so I don’t know what’s on Netflix. But just on the previews that they put on different billboards and everywhere, you’ll know that they’re demonic. From witchcraft, teaching the children how to do spells and how to cast incantations. These are all demonic.

Some of you like to watch horror movies. Horror movies are an open door to the demonic. And secular music, the things you listen to. Maybe it’s rap or whatever it is hip hop, whatever it is, they do not glorify God, do they? And all they talk about is how to shack up with another girl, how to do drugs, and how to make this money and all these blasphemous things!

How is it going to encourage you? And that is why you need to cut out every influence that the Holy Spirit is convicting in your heart that is not pleasing to Him. And if you’re saying,

“Well, I don’t have time to see God because I’m working 12 to 15 hours a day.”

then that is also a part you need to change in your life and say,

“God, I need to seek You. want to seek Your face. But this job is taking everything. Taking all the energy and time away from me. Please give me a new job.”

If you’re sincere, I’m confident that God will give you that new job so you can tone down the hours and still make a living and worship God and seek His face.

We never want to be in a situation where all we’re trying to do is to provide for the necessities of life. Because Jesus says that

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)

Final Words

And if you want to live free and to be delivered from the things that are going on in your life right now and you know you’re mentally attacked, I’m telling you there are no shortcuts.

Do the four things that I told you today and implement them throughout your entire life because if you don’t do that, guess what? The devil is more than happy to wreck your life, wreck your family, but you have to stand up and say no! I will not receive that! Get out of here in Jesus’ name! Because as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Go ahead and share this with people who need to hear this and share the Gospel with those around you because the time is at hand.

God bless you!
