10 keys to receiving supernatural protection from God for you and your family.
Coming straight from Psalm 91. If there’s ever a time that you and I as believers when we need the protection of God and the peace of God, this is a time in the past two years, everybody’s freaking out over covid and the lockdown, the pandemic, or any other things related to that.
Now is the time to say “God, we stand in Your promises.” and we receive protection from God when other people are falling out. We will trust in You and we will trust in Your presence and Your protection for us.”
Key #1: He Who Dwells in the Secret Place of the Most High
And let’s get to key number one. As the title of the song says, “Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God”
That’s the first verse. He who dwells, dwelling where? In the secret place of the Most High. (Psalm 91:1)
Where is the secret place? Jesus told us in the sermon on the mount that the secret place is your prayer closet. It’s when you enter into the secret place when no one’s watching, you lock your door the moment you get into that secret place, the Father is already there. (Matthew 6:6)
Even though He’s in heaven on His throne, He’s also at the same time here on earth in your secret place. What a blessing it is!
So today, if you’re not seeking God in your prayer, and I’m not just talking about, “Oh, I seek God before I have a meal or if I need some kind of help at work, then I seek God. ” That is not a secret place.
A secret place is where you actually lock yourself, you get in private with God. Just like if you’re married, you have a secret place with your spouse. You don’t do just anywhere.
It’s a secret place with the Most High. Where is your secret place that you spend time with God and hear his heart and pray and intercede? That is a place where you want to dwell in, not just to meet and greet with God and say, “Oh hey, God, how’s it going? ” five minutes have passed. “I got to go back to my work.”
No! You want to set a time every day and say, “God, this is the time I meet with You and I dwell here because I know that when I dwell in the secret place, You’re there with me. “
Key #2: Shall Abide Under the Shadow of the Almighty
And when you do that, number two: He who does that shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1)
If you look at how God says the Israelites are to build an Ark of the Covenant, I have this replica here I saw at a Christian bookstore one time that I bought. It’s so good.
When you abide under the shadow of the Almighty, these two cherubims are what cover the throne of God. And so when you dwell in the secret place, you abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Nothing can come against you or your family. That is the good news.
And here’s a very interesting part about the ark of the covenant. You open it and it shows you three things right here:
There’s a hidden manna, reminding us that god is our provider. That god rained down manna from heaven, daily bread for the israelites so that we can trust god to provide for us.
There’s Aaron’s staff.
And lastly we have in the ark of the covenant the Ten Commandments. We don’t want to forget god’s laws because, in the new covenant, He’s written those laws in our hearts through the power of the Holy Spirit so that we can obey God and do His will.
And when you’re dwelling in a secret place and abiding under the shadow of the almighty, what will you do?
Key #3: I Will Say of the Lord, He is My Refuge and My Fortress, My God in Him I Will Trust
Number three, I will say of the Lord.
I will say. Not other people will say. Other people will say “Well, this variant. This particular virus that’s deadly. Or this situation, this work situation. The laying of everybody because the economy’s bad, inflation is bad.”
The economists on the tv saying this. When everybody else is saying things that are contrary to the word of God. Saying things that are of distress, saying things that are of fear.
What will you say? What will I say? I will say of the Lord. He is my refuge and my fortress. My God, in Him I will trust. (Psalm 91:2) not this world, not science, but in my Mod, in Him I will trust. And you have to say it. You can’t wait for other people to say it.
You, especially if you’re a male. You are the leader of your family. You have to take the authority in Jesus’ name and say “No, this will not come near us.” That we’re provided for. That we are protected. That we stand under the blood of Jesus, and that we are children of God.
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord the same way that the plague passed over the children of Israel when they saw the blood of the lamb in the door post.mThe same way that any kind of calamities will pass over our family. Because we have the blood of Jesus smeared across our hearts by faith.
Key #4: God Shall Cover You With His Feathers and Under His Wings You Shall Take Refuge
And as you confess the truth of the word of God, it says here in number four.
Surely, God shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. And God shall cover you with His feathers and under His wings you shall take refuge. (Psalm 91:3-4)
What is the snare of the fowler? It’s a trap. It’s like a hunter trying to lay a trap to trap the animal. The same way the bible tells us, you’ve got to be careful, you have to be sober and vigilant because the devil is going out there roaming around, seeking whom he can devour.
Because he’s setting traps through temptation, through the people that are doing things that may hurt you and harm you and you have this bitterness.
Many different types of traps of the devil wants to set against you and your family. Whether it’s through sickness, disease and other demonic oppression, make sure that you stay under the shadow of the Almighty.
Because when you do that, then God will deliver you from the snare of the fowler. And from what? From the perilous pestilence. What is pestilence? The very thing that you and I have been seeing in the past two years – covid, the variants, omicron.
Whatever people are freaking out over with, this is the promise of the bible that God will deliver you from the perilous pestilence. (Psalm 91:3-4) if you stay in the secret place. Abide under the shadow of the Almighty, (Psalm 91:1) and say that God is your refuge and your fortress. (Psalm 91:2)
Not what the world is saying, not turning on the news every two minutes and seeing what the news anchor is going to say. And by the way, you know that they’re reading through different scripts that they propagate through the network to some guy at the top of this group here.
And they distribute those scripts and they read it through TV and everybody else just say, “Okay, well that’s the that’s the agenda. That’s what they’re saying.” and they believe that.
But who’s believing the word of God here that says that God is going to cover you with his feathers. And under his wings, you shall take refuge. (Psalm 91:3-4)
Key #5: God’s Truth Shall Be Your Shield and Buckler
And this leads us to key number five:
God’s truth shall be your shield and buckler. (Psalm 91:4)
If you go on google and type in “shield and buckler. ” which I did. I need to know what this really is. You can see it’s like a little rounded shield with this little circle thing on the top. It’s back in the days when people used it as armor to defend the enemy.
When God’s truth, the word of God is your shield and your buckler, whenever the news anchor says something, whenever your family members, your relatives, your friends, your neighbors, whatever they’re saying “Oh man, this thing is really bad, oh the situation is bad. Oh they’re laying off everybody. Oh there’s no way to provide food on the table. Oh there’s all these sickness and that these people are dying.” They’re freaking out!
This is your shield and buckler. The truth and the word of God. Know that by the stripes of Jesus, I am healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
That when I stay under the secret place of the Most High, then I will be protected. (Psalm 91:1)
And no weapons formed against me shall prevail. (Isaiah 24:17)
Because greater is He who is in me than He was in the world. (1 John 4:4)
One after another, Paul talks about it this way, calling it the shield of faith which will quench every fiery dart of the evil one.
Today, where is your faith? And where is your shield? If you haven’t taken up as of late, do it right now! Because that is your source of strength and your protection from god.
Key #6: You Shall Not Be Afraid
Because when you do that, number six:
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night nor of the arrow that flies by day, (Psalm 19:5)
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. (Psalm 91:6) saying that when all these calamities are happening, you don’t even know what’s happening.
How can you predict the direction of the arrows or where they’re flying? If you’re in a war back then the arrows are just flying. You have no idea where they’re coming from the same way that viruses and pestilence are walking in darkness seeking whom he can devour.
And you look to the left and right. The destruction and people dying is saying that there’s no way for you to mentally figure it out. But if you abide in the shadow of the almighty, you shall not be afraid. In fact you have peace. People wonder why you’re not freaking out.
“Why are you not being scared? “
“Are you not reading the news? ”
“Are you not seeing what the latest scientist is saying? “
“They’re saying that this variant is bad and the curve is like this in this country and that and that and that. ”
And to be honest, I don’t listen to any of that.
Because you know what? Even though I do understand that God has placed certain laws on this earth and that’s how we have science. But science also changes every now and then.
There are so many examples in history. One example I can give you is I’ve met a paramedic supervisor about 10 years ago in a bible study group and they say that back in the day when they respond to a call of someone having a heart attack, cardiac arrest, then they will inject to them something called Sodium Bicarbonate.
Because in the training in the medical community back then, it was said that Sodium Bicarbonate is going to help revive the person’s heart and help them get out of the heart attack and bring them to the hospital so that they can be stabilized.
But guess what? This paramedic supervisor also told me later, years later, they don’t use that anymore because it was found that sometimes it can actually kill people.
The very thing that they thought will save people actually will kill people. And I looked it up online recently again. Sodium Bicarbonate, according to the American Heart Association, they discontinued its use around the 1980’s. Because in 1986, they said this is something that is controversial.
We can no longer endorse it because it has mixed findings in the medical community. And yet a decade ago, it was said it was the thing that will save people from having a heart attack. But we later found out that it could do the opposite.
Who is it to say that the very shots that they’re administering today would do the same thing? Nobody knows. Five years goes by, ten years goes by, the thing that’s injected into people right now, could that be something that actually harms people.
Who knows? Is it actually effective? Are people actually not getting sick because of this injection? I think there’s more and more evidence showing today that whether this thing is effective or not and yet is being pushed hard in the society today.
Why is that? And a very simple answer is because this is the spirit of the anti-Christ which I don’t have time to go through in this video. But you can watch in my channel talking about whether this covid vaccine is the mark of the beast.
You can go watch that video. And so the key to staying in peace and not being afraid is to abide in God’s truth and having His word as your shield.
Key #7: A Thousand May Fall at Your Side and Ten Thousand at Your Right Hand. But It Shall Not Come Near You.
And that brings us to number 7.
A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand. But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is your refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place. (Psalm 91:7-9) no evil shall befall you nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. (Psalm 91:10)
If there’s any promise you want to claim this is the one you want to cling onto. When you focus on God, you’d want a secret place. You will speak this over yourself and your family. A thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand, it’s not going to come near me.
And no plague shall come near my dwelling. And I speak that over and over again in my family because this is the promise of God. And I will say of the Lord, this is the inheritance of those who trust in Jesus Christ.
Is this what you’re going to confess over your family? Or are you going to confess the same thing that the world is confessing today?
Key #8: God Shall Give His Angels Charge Over You to Keep You in All Your Ways
Number eight, for God shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways. (Psalm 91:11) in their hands, they shall bear you up lest you dash your foot against the stone. (Psalm 91:12)
This is the very scripture that the devil tried to quote to ask Jesus to jump off the building. But Jesus said, it is written. You shall not tempt the Lord, your God. (Matthew 4:7) in the right context, God is telling us here, He’s going to give us His angels, the ministering spirits for the heir of salvation.
Key #9: You Shall Tread Upon the Lion and the Cobra
Because number nine:
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra. The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. (Psalm 91:13)
Not God. God is saying you are going to trample over scorpions and serpents and nothing shall by any means harm you. That’s Luke 10:19.
Instead of you playing the defensive saying, “Oh, I’m just going to wait for God to protect me.” No, you go take territory for the kingdom of God. You go on the offensive.
How many of you know when you’re in a sports team, the team that’s always just playing defense and the coach doesn’t tell them to go offense, they’re going to lose.
You can’t win a game just by playing defense. You have to at one point again go offense. And that’s what we need to do as Christians. We can’t just hunker down and be, “Oh I’m going to be in here and I can’t go out.” No, you’re going to go out. You’re going to set the captives free because you have a certain period of time and season.
God’s telling you to be here and do that. Yes, you can. But overall, you can’t spend years and years just hunkering down somewhere, building this bunker, and not go out and do the will of God. Because God wants you to go on the offensive.
And as you go, God will protect you and you can set the captives free.
Key #10: You Set Your Love Upon God
And the reason you do that is because, number 10:
God says because he has set his love upon Me. Therefore I will deliver him, I will set him on high because he’s known My name. He shall call upon me and I will answer Him. I’ll be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him and with long life, I will satisfy him and show him My salvation. This is the inheritance of the saints of God.
Aren’t you glad that we don’t have to look in this life, in this world, and be like men? There’s no hope when the doctor is giving up hope. No. We have hope. His name is Jesus. As I want to encourage you, if you’ve been living in fear and you feel like things are attacking you in your mind, anxiety, and stress.
Don’t be. Read Psalm 91. Declare these 10 keys over you and your family. Because I assure you, the word of God will never fail.
Science can fail. Doctors can fail. Humans can fail you over and over again. Why? Because that’s us as humans. We need God to save us because humans have flaws. So don’t trust in the works of man, but trust in God. When you do that, it is the promise of God that he will be with you.
He’ll deliver you and your family and nothing shall by any means come near you or hurt you when you abide in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Are you going to do that? If your answer is yes, then there’s nothing to fear.
God bless you!
